Psychologists with Service Experience

Mil Spec Psychology is a collective of psychologists who have served in the Australian Defence Force across a number of roles. Each of our clinicians has a particular interest in working with both current and former serving members of the ADF and emergency services personnel

Referral Pathways

Referrals through DVA entitlements, Open Arms and Self Refer are funded by third parties and no out of pocket or gap fees are charged. Cancelation fees may be applicable for individual clinicians.

Third party referrers cannot guarantee the availability of individual Mil Spec Psychology affiliates.

  • Former-serving ADF members - Direct referral from your GP to one of our team members using your DVA white/gold veteran's card or self-referral through Open Arms (1800 011 046).

  • Current-serving ADF members - approach your Medical Officer or MHPS and ask for a named referral through BUPA ADF (preferred) or Open Arms. You can also self-refer through Open Arms by calling 1800 011 046 and completing a brief intake assessment.

  • Queensland Police Service (QPS), Marine Rescue, State Emergency Service (SES) and Queensland Fire - self-referral using the Self Refer system requesting on of our team members or direct contact with Mil Spec Psychology. Some work and personal details will be required to generate the referral.
